Discovering karst features

3 – 8. may

First day is the arrival day, we will meet in Ljubljana and is reserved for getting to know each other and having a bit deeper insight into what are we going to do, what is our theme and how it is or can it be connected with landscape architecture.

Further days on, we will be traveling around karstic Slovenian landscapes. We will have a tour through The karst living museum showing us typical karstic phenomena, such as uvalas, sinkholes, caves, inflow caves …, we will have a guided tour through Botanical garden in Sežana that keeps some special karstic species, you will have opportunity to see two typically designed karstic gardens -a garden that was introduced in Hampton Court Place Flower Show 2009 and got gild medal in its category of small gardens – Pepas karst garden, and another one – Pepas story, that got gold medal in category Artisan Gardens on RHS Chelsea flower show 2012 in London. Further on, we will visit Štanjel – one of the oldest karst villages that Maks Fabiani left his mark on, special in architectural and landscape architectural point of view, for some it will be the first time to explore the underground – we will visit Unesco site Park Škocjanske jame, Škocjan caves and following the water flow we will connect our explorations with water seeing intermittent Cerkniško lake, passing through typical kraška polja – Planinsko, Loško, we will go to the Ljubljanica spring – intermittent river with seven names and that passes Ljubljana marshes, our next stop brings us into the city heart of our capital, Ljubljana. Ljubljana got a flattering title, the green capital of Europe 2016, so it is more than worth visit.

Of course, there won’t miss evening gatherings, international dinner, different kinds of sport activities (oriental games, walking, biking, supping, …) creative tasks (sketching, thematic workshops) inspiring adventures and to make you even more enthusiastic, let you know that in between we will be sleeping in Park Idyll on Bloško lake, just opened glamp kamp in idyllic, unique, peaceful nature.
